About the project

Project ROSE: „Road to self-employment for Ukrainians and other marginalized groups on the Czech labour market“

is focused on providing knowledge in the area of obtaining a trade license and starting your own business in the Czech Republic.

The Czech Republic has taken in nearly 460,000 Ukrainian refugees since the beginning of the Ukrainian war. This number creates intense pressure for the sustainable integration of refugees into Czech society and the labour market. Ukrainian refugees face various obstacles in their search for work, ranging from lack of knowledge of the language, to problematic recognition of qualifications and nostrification of education, to poorer access to kindergartens.

However, many of the refugees had been running their own businesses, running a company or working as self-employed craftsmen and tradesmen before being forced to leave the country and thus have entrepreneurial skills and experience. The main objective of this project is therefore to strengthen the effective integration of war refugees, immigrants and similarly disadvantaged groups into the Czech labour market by enabling them to start their own business or self-employment.

The project aims to transfer knowledge about business opportunities in the Czech Republic to Ukrainian refugees, migrants and other disadvantaged groups and facilitate their entry into the Czech market and self-employment. The project consists of 3 main parts, an internal training trip to Norway, a roadshow in five selected cities of the Czech Republic with the organization of educational and consultative seminars for Ukrainian refugees, as well as the creation of information materials on business opportunities in the Czech Republic.

The ROSE project is supported by the Norway Grants 2014-2021 under the Social Dialogue and Decent Work Programme.
